State Vendor Development Programme :Know all about it   from IamSMEofIndia



IamSMEofIndia (Integrated Association of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises of India)

organized a seminar on State Vendor Development Programme by MSME Development

Institute, Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, New Delhi.

The purpose of the seminar was to create awareness about various schemes and benefits for

MSMEs from the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India.

Mr Rajiv Chawla, Chairman, IamSMEofIndia welcomed Mr V M Jha, Dy. Director, Mr

Anurag Srivastava and Mr.  K K Goyal, Asst. Directors – MSME-DI.   Mr. Brijesh Kumar

from NHPC and Mr. Kamal Gupta from NTPC were also present in the programme.  In

his initial remarks, Mr Chawla informed that the objective of  the Vendor Development

Programme is to provide common platform for MSMEs & PSUs to interact with each

other with a view to identifying emerging demands of the buyer organizations while

simultaneously providing an opportunity for displaying the capabilities of the MSME

entrepreneurs and their industrial ventures. Such programmes have proved to be of

immense use in locating suitable entrepreneurs by a number of buying organizations

including the Public Sector Enterprises, various Wings of Defence, Railways and others

in indigenizing a number of products which hitherto have been imported at a colossal

cost.

Two types of VDPs are being organized by MSME DIs - National Level VDPs - cum-

Exhibitions and State Level VDPs. In National Level VDPs of 3 days duration, large scale

organizations such as BEL, BHEL, TELCO, BSNL, loc, NHPC, NTPC etc. Interact with MSEs

in establishing potential vendors.   In these National Level VDPs, an exhibition is also

put up for displaying the products of MSMEs and large scale organizations.  In State

Level VDPs, typically one or two buying large scale organisation functioning in the state

participate in the programme and interact with MSMEs (sellers) in the Buyer-Seller

Meets.

Mr. V M Jha, through an elaborative presentation, talked about the registration

procedure and supplies to the PSUs and Government Agencies.  He also shared

important details that 20% of PSUs purchases is to be mandatorily done from MSMEs.  

Mr Chawla throughout the seminar kept the participants motivated to avail the benefits under

State Level Vendor Development Programme.

We hope, more and more SMEs will take advantage of such schemes for their product lines.

concluding remarks, while thanking the eminent guests from the MSME-DI and the participants.
